Now, You Know Why

 

 

Once there was a man and his family living in a farm community.

He did not believe Jesus being God incarnate.  But his wife was a believer and she was raising their children in the way, which is pleasing to the Lord.

One snowy day, she and the children left for church while he stayed home.

When he sat down by the fire to relax, he heard a thumping noise against a window.

As he ventured outside to see what is going on, he found a flock of geese !

They were apparently caught by this snowstorm, while heading to a warmer climate in south. Now they are stranded on his farm, wandering aimlessly.

 

He felt compassion on them. " The barn would be a great shelter for them", he thought.

So, he opened the barn doors.  He waited, waited, watching them, hoping they would notice the opening and take shelter in the time of storm.

But, they did not notice or maybe they were afraid.

So, he moved closer toward them to get their attention and get them moving toward the safety.  He even broke some bread and made a bread trail to the bran.

But they still did not respond.  He begun to get frustrated. He even went over by the flock to shoo them toward the barn with no avail.

Finally, he exclaimed, " Why can't they get it ? Why can't they see that the barn is the only place they can survive the weather ? "

Then, he thought for a moment and realized that they would not follow a human. After all, they are geese. Still he wondered "How can I save them ? " .

Then he thought to himself, "If only I could become like one of them, then I could save them. They would follow me to the barn !"

"If I could become like one of them……….".

Oh what a revelation !   He finally understood His Compassion and Love.
